In Malawi, the yearning for possibilities knows no bounds, as both adults and children dream beyond their physical limitations. However, numerous challenges hinder the realization of these dreams. Through Nanze, my hope is to assist the people of Malawi and Sub-Saharan Africa in achieving seemingly unattainable dreams.

I moved to America from Malawi at the age of twelve, and my dedication to serving others began when I returned to Africa as part of the Peace Corps. Witnessing extreme poverty and despair awakened a strong desire within me to make a difference. To empower others, I pursued my own education, firmly believing that learning is the path to empowerment for everyone.

​

In Africa, the stark level of need deeply affected me. Items considered basic necessities in America were precious commodities to impoverished African children. Even simple items like writing journals and pens held immense value. The scarcity of clean water was also apparent, with families bathing in rivers and then using the same contaminated water for drinking and cooking.

​

Furthermore, I witnessed the challenges faced by parents in nurturing dreams for their children. The lack of educational resources available to eager children in Malawi was disheartening, especially when considering the abundance enjoyed by my own children and students. In Africa, children resorted to using charcoal as a writing tool, highlighting the stark disparities.

Driven by my determination, I obtained an education, becoming a high school principal. I am also a parent to three wonderful children, Indie, Nandi and Izaiah. Despite relative comfort, my heart aches for the people of Africa and their extreme poverty. The inception of Nanze was born from my deep connection to my homeland and the shared aspirations of every Malawian child yearning for opportunities.

Through Nanze, our aim is to create boundless opportunities for the children of Malawi and Sub-Saharan Africa, empowering them to soar and become tomorrow's leaders. I firmly believe that education holds the power to transform lives and change the world. The mission of Nanze is deeply personal to me, as I aspire to touch lives, help build dreams, and provide equal opportunities. It is my sincere dream that others will join us in sharing this mission.
